Business is unpredictable and sometimes your success stagnates. One month you are doing great, the next month everything seems to go at a crawl. That’s the fate of those building a business.

However, things don’t always have to be like that.

Whenever we feel stuck, there are things that we can do about it. And when it comes to success, I find myself doing these particular things.

These actions have helped me crawl or even leap forward in progress and success.

What To Do When Your Success Stagnates

First Pause And Check Yourself

This is a popular trick for myself and for good reason. It’s helped me out of a number of situations and helped me to narrow down my issues. I also use that answer to reassure myself.

But how exactly do I narrow down the problem via checking myself? Well, I ask myself questions.

What exactly is putting a strain on me?

Why do I feel my success or progress is stalling?

How am I feeling right now from all of this?

How do I think I’d feel if I changed things?

These questions are all important to me for a few reasons. For one it allows me to justify whether or not my concerns are legit or not. There’s no point in changing things drastically if the pain I have is relatively small.

In those cases, it might constitute talking to someone or having a conversation with myself.

If it is an issue, I can strategize. This brings me to my second point.

Second, Provide Solutions

Instead of focusing on why your success stagnates, spend your energy on thinking solutions. These solutions take the form of plans that I map out. For example, this week I’m developing my writing skills further while also putting together a work schedule for how I should be working.

But what got me to that point was looking at an issue and coming up with a plan. I have no idea if this is the right plan for me or not, but that’s part of life. It’s meant to be an adventure and an experiment.

Thirdly, Talk To People

If you’re an entrepreneur, chance are you’re in groups on Facebook. Or maybe you have a good group of people you can turn to offline. Whatever the case is, it’s important to leverage this group.

Your group is important to your own success in so many ways. The biggest being that different people will have different perspectives and thus different solutions.

There is a lot that can be understood and read from groups pertaining to your niche but also in groups of entrepreneurs and your own audience as well. For example, if you have conversations with people, be sure to keep them in mind for the future. As a writer, those conversations could provide a valuable topic to write about.

Furthermore, ideas that are generated can give you some new angles or approaches to things as well. These influence our decision on making changes or adjustments or even scrapping certain parts.

Fourthly, Execute

The last thing is taking action. It’s simple on paper, but it’s not always so easy. Some things take longer than anticipated, or you find something that makes you reconsider ideas you’ve thought of.

Regardless, make sure you move while you are making adjustments. Just because one thing changes doesn’t mean everything needs to come to a halt. There are many options to consider and it’s up to you to uncover them.

Business is not all about being comfortable and making money. Sometimes you need to throw caution to the wind and go against your own rules.

Success Stagnates? Try These!

These four things I have done have shifted my work drastically and continue to change my work. I’m of the mind that a little bit of progress is still progress and if these actions help then I’ll do them.

Even in situations where your growth or momentum is small, the fact you’re moving forward is progressive. I know from myself when things were so slow, I found hope in that someday I’ll get to where I want to be. And I believe you all can too.

To your growth!
