Standing Up – Monday May 15 2017
Standing Up Is Tough
Figuratively speaking that is. I am confident that most people can stand up on their own two feet unless you have a physical condition that prevents you from doing so. Either way that process of standing up, or getting back up and trying again takes nerve and grit.
A lot of people will give up after their first failure and they never get back up. Walking around with a chip on their shoulder about the tough battle. All the while internally there is a lot of mental fighting going on.
Over the past week that was my case. I failed to do the things I desired and like I talked about in my work week update, I was getting tired of the bullshit I was feeding myself.
As I iterated before…
You only really have two options when you get into that case: feed yourself more bullshit or redeem yourself. There’s no other way around it.
Many people choose to feed themselves more bullshit, convincing themselves and justifying their excuses. Whatever it is that is holding you back, it’s vital to deal with that mental turmoil.
Figure out why you’re coming up with excuses and get back to standing up with a clearer picture. Failure in the end gives us great clarity and understanding of the world around us and ourselves.
There are still many things that I need to fix and build upon. I have many issues but that’s the thing with life, there are always more problems. Once you fix things you need to put out another fire and continue to move and be flexible in your life.
We do get tied up in our excuses for sure. The past week for me was literally that. However one important thing that I realized from that was I knew I was doing it. I knew already what I had to do to persevere. Strive for that level of clarity. It can help you.
To your growth!
