Why thinking positively will make a huge difference in your life.

One of the main aspects of building confidence is to think positively. It’s actually a key ingredient.

When we think positively, we can lift ourselves up and do incredible things with our lives. This stems from the belief that we have the tools necessary to do what we want to do.

Positive thinking has played some role in creating everything that people are doing today. And looking back through history it’s clear that many things have happened.

Here are but a few other benefits that stem from thinking positively.

Reduces Negative Self-Talk

Thinking and talking in a positive manner boosts our confidence because it reduces the negative self-talk we have. There are naturally many ways to emotionally harm ourselves and negative self-talk is only one of them.

By thinking in a positive manner we are filling up that space inside of us with positivity. Furthermore, we are blocking negative self-talk with positive self-talk too.

In The Magic Of Thinking Big, David Schwartz talks about this to some degree.

He explains that our mind is like an apartment building.

When we fill our mind with negative thoughts, negativity starts to take residence in the buildings. This pushes out positive thoughts. The same is true for when we fill our mind with positivity.

At the end of the day, whoever has the most control in our thoughts heavily impacts what we say and act.

Reduces Stress, Worry, Doubt

A negative mind will never give you a positive life. Unknown

Part of negativity is instilling various emotions. Things like stress, doubt, hesitation, worry, and more.

These take residence and control more and more of us when our mind is heavily influenced by negativity.

We will still experience those things regardless of if we think positively or not. However, by thinking positively, we can learn about how to deal with those emotions.

We can better manage those emotions and keep them in check. We can slowly learn tactics to manage worry for example.

Improved Mentality And Physical Wellness

When you think positively, you start caring more about yourself.

You’ll find yourself being conscious of the food you are eating, exercising more, and generally being more positive.

This makes sense as you can use positive thinking too, of course, think positively, but to also encourage yourself into doing other activities.

Better Coping In Difficult Situations

A difficult challenge, a problem, or a loss in the family can be difficult situations. However thinking positively can help in coping with these situations.

When you think positively in these cases you are looking more for solutions rather than the problem.

You are choosing to see positive things as opposed to wallowing in negativity.

I believe it’s important to experience those negative emotions to some degree when you are a positive thinker. Much like with any sickness, we build a tolerance and learn how to handle it when we experience it.

By thinking positively, you are learning to tolerate negative and difficult situations.

You are holding it in your heart and soul, but not let it control you.

From there you are learning from the experience before letting it go and move forward with a more enlightened mind.

Thinking positively encourages us to do many activities.

Try This

Thinking in a positive light can help in so many different ways.

It truly is acknowledging all manner of emotions, yet choosing to think in a positive way about situations.

This alone can instill hope within us, reduce the influences of negativity, and lift our spirits up in times of difficulty.

Employ positive thinking in your life by taking these steps below:

  • Have an affirmation (or several) that you tell yourself every day.

  • When you encounter a bad situation, take a deep breath.

  • Follow that up by asking yourself “how can I benefit from this?” Or “What other way can I approach this from?”

  • Express gratitude and give genuine compliments freely.

To your growth!
